Remote Work Problems

The pandemic caused by COVID-19 has generated infinite changes in the work environment. The main one has been the change from working in a physical office to doing it remotely. This has brought many benefits, but also many problems.

In this week’s blog, we want to share some of the difficulties that remote work has caused. When the emergency started, not all companies had clear remote-work policies. Typically, these policies or regulations indicate what an employee forced to work from home has the right to and if this will involve any extra payment from the company. By not having them, the situation becomes confusing.

Another hurdle that has come up is data security. Companies have had to react quickly to the problem that arises now that employees do not enter the corporate network from one place. To remedy this, some companies have tried to train their employees to improve their IT knowledge.

Business leaders have had to act the fastest during the pandemic. They have had to demonstrate resilience and speed to keep the team together despite the distance. Communication between them and employees has been the key to keeping companies running.

According to some calculations, it is believed that 25-30% will still work some days from home. This would involve even more changes. Some companies may decide to mix up the days and reduce their office space. Others may want everyone to return, and some will choose to continue working entirely remotely.

We tell you this because we know that the stress of uncertainty is still very present. At Líder Laboral, we are constantly preparing to attend to these types of cases. We always try to keep up to date on what rights you are entitled to and how to proceed if they are not complied with. If you need any help to defend your labor rights during this time, get in touch with us, and we will help you.
